Job description

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides support for duplicate Medical Records and merges, coordinates medical record findings and requests related to amendments and corrections. Assists with medical record audits, statistical analysis in the area of quality compliance reviews. Responsibilities include utilization of Medical Records database systems for the identification of appropriate documentation in EMR formats and distributing records or data as necessary. Assists in development and training of internal and external departmental staff. Corresponds with University partners and vendors to resolve identification discrepancies and make appropriate chart corrections. Works with management to implement projects and activities to attain short and long-term goals established by the department. Develops and implements methods to improve work processes and procedures, equipment, and personnel needs. Monitors the quality assurance and coordination of activities related to work performed by assigned staff and vendors. Monitors medical record documentation deficiencies according to policy and state/federal mandate. Initiates provider/clinic engagement and provide training as necessary. Complies with all Federal and State Regulations and accrediting bodies including but not limited to HIPPA, JCAHO and State. Promotes the Health System’s Guest Relations Policy.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Associates degree is required with two year minimum experience in administrative and clerical duties. HIPAA knowledge and/or certification preferred.
