Data Governance Analyst | Louisville, Kentucky, United States Job Summary: Data Governance Analyst (Remote - India, 12-Month Contract) About the Role Join a dynamic central Data Governance team as a Data Governance Analyst, supporting multiple brands and business functions. In this remote role, you'll champion enterprise data governance initiatives, ensuring the accurate onboarding and management of governed data assets across a leading global organization. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, gain exposure to enterprise technologies, and drive data transparency and integrity while developing your expertise in the fast-growing field of data governance. Responsibilities - Implement and operationalize enterprise data governance policies, standards, and procedures. - Deliver governance assessments to ensure consistent application of global data standards across business units. - Collaborate with business, BI, data engineering, and platform teams to validate and onboard governed data assets. - Support data stewardship activities, including onboarding and ongoing maintenance in the enterprise data catalog. - Ensure completeness and accuracy of governance metadata, including business and technical descriptions, ownership, lineage, domains, and quality rules. - Interpret and translate business and technical artifacts into structured governance metadata. - Perform metadata scanning, data domain discovery, curation, and lineage documentation to improve transparency. - Administer and maintain governance assets in tools such as Informatica Axon, EDC, CDGC, MCC, or IDMC. - Manage governance assets, glossaries, datasets, policies, processes, and stewardship workflows. - Coordinate intake and onboarding activities using Jira, breaking work into actionable tasks and tracking progress. - Support agile delivery routines, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, status updates, and cross-team handoffs. - Manage parallel governance workstreams and project priorities while delivering high-quality outputs. - Partner with stakeholders to close metadata gaps, resolve data ownership issues, and promote best practices adoption. Required Skills and Experience - 2-4 years of experience in data governance, management, metadata management, data quality, stewardship, or analytics. - Proven hands-on experience with data governance or catalog platforms, particularly Informatica Axon and/or EDC. - Strong command of core data governance concepts: business glossary management, data ownership, metadata management, lineage, data domains, quality, and policy management. - Ability to analyze business and technical documentation and translate into governance metadata. - Technical aptitude for understanding complex datasets, data flows, and governance requirements. - Proficiency with Jira or similar work management tools. - Experience in agile delivery environments. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. - Self-starter attitude with strong organization, multitasking, and attention to detail. - Willingness to work overlapping hours with U.S. Eastern Time for effective collaboration.
