Long term Contract
 
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Data Governance Lead to drive the establishment, implementation, and continuous improvement of robust data governance frameworks across the organization.
In this leadership role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data is managed as a valuable asset—driving data quality, compliance, security, and business value.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Frameworks:
    • Define, document, and execute comprehensive data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Data Ownership & Stewardship:
    • Establish and maintain clear data ownership and stewardship roles across business units.
  • Policy & Compliance:
    • Enforce data management and protection policies in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Data Quality & Integrity:
    • Identify data quality improvement opportunities, set KPIs, and implement initiatives to enhance and monitor data quality throughout its life cycle.
  • Leadership & Collaboration:
    • Chair and guide the Data Governance Committee; provide coaching and guidance to business stakeholders to support data governance processes.
  • Strategic Alignment:
    • Ensure data governance strategies align with business objectives and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Risk Management:
    • Mitigate data-related risks by implementing appropriate controls and working with relevant teams to maintain compliance.
  • Metadata Management:
    • Promote and manage the ongoing documentation of data assets, including maintaining data catalogues and dictionaries.
  • Education & Culture:
    • Foster a culture of data stewardship and continuous improvement by leading training and awareness initiatives for employees on data governance best practices.
  • Technology Enablement:
    • Evaluate, select, and implement data governance tools as needed to support program objectives.
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in data governance, data management, or related senior roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in creating and implementing policies, processes, and controls for end-to-end data management.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards regarding data privacy, security, and use.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills, including experience leading cross-functional projects or teams.
  • Experience with metadata management, data cataloguing, and data quality management tools.
  • Certification in Data Governance or Data Management (e.g., DM-BOK, CDMP) is advantageous.
