As a Pharmacy Lead Data Entry Technician at A&E Pharmacy, you play a vital role in overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy data entry team within our fast-paced, closed-door long-term care pharmacy. This leadership position is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of prescriptions, maintaining workflow efficiency, and supporting quality assurance initiatives. The Lead Data Entry Technician mentors and guides pharmacy technicians, coordinates daily data entry activities, and collaborates closely with pharmacists, nursing facilities, and healthcare providers to deliver exceptional service. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, leadership skills, and the ability to manage high-volume prescription data entry while ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations and company standards.
Position Type: Full-Time, working a varying schedule including nights and weekends.
Shifts Available (Rotating Schedule and Weekends):
Rotating with shifts
8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM, and 12:30 PM - 9:00 PM. One weekend (both days, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM) shift per month.
Wage: $26 - $38 / hour depending on experience

Pharmacy Lead Data Entry Technician Responsibilities:
  • Lead the daily operations of the pharmacy data entry team and support workflow efficiency.
  • Enter, review, and verify prescription orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain accurate patient, physician, medication, and insurance information.
  • Prioritize urgent medication orders to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Monitor workload, assign tasks, and support team productivity.
  • Train, mentor, and onboard Data Entry Technicians.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews to minimize errors and ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, nursing staff, providers, and internal teams to resolve prescription issues.
  • Monitor performance metrics, troubleshoot workflow concerns, and recommend process improvements.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable state and federal regulations.
Pharmacy Lead Data Entry Technician Qualifications:
  • Active Minnesota Pharmacy Technician Registration (or eligibility to obtain).
  • PTCB or ExCPT certification preferred.
  • 3-5 years of pharmacy technician experience, preferably in long-term care or closed-door pharmacy.
  • Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy workflow and prescription processing.
  • Experience with pharmacy software systems such as FrameworkLTC, PioneerRx, QS/1, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Excellent computer, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
