Job Title: Forklift Operator
Job Description

This role operates a variety of forklifts and powered industrial vehicles to safely move, load, unload, and organize products throughout a busy warehouse. You will support shipping, receiving, and inventory control by handling materials efficiently, maintaining accurate records, and keeping the warehouse organized. The position offers cross-training on multiple types of forklifts and the opportunity to build a long-term career in a supportive, safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate multiple types of forklifts and powered industrial vehicles, including sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, cherry picker, clamp truck, and other PIV equipment to move products throughout the facility.
  • Load and unload trailers, trucks, and other vehicles safely and efficiently using appropriate forklifts and material handling equipment.
  • Move, stack, and stage products in designated areas while maintaining proper stock arrangement and warehouse organization.
  • Perform order picking using forklifts and RF scanners to accurately select, retrieve, and prepare products for shipment or internal use.
  • Support shipping and receiving activities by moving incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring products are placed in correct locations, and assisting with dock operations.
  • Use RF scanners and related systems to perform accurate data entry and inventory tracking, ensuring product movements are recorded in a timely and precise manner.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections on forklifts and other PIV equipment to verify safe operation, identify potential issues, and report or address maintenance needs.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including safe driving practices, proper use of equipment, and adherence to facility rules and policies.
  • Work at heights as needed, including operating equipment such as cherry pickers and reach trucks to access elevated storage locations.
  • Participate in cross-training to learn and operate all types of forklifts and material handling equipment used in the facility.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area, including aisles, staging zones, and storage locations.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals, prioritize tasks, and support overall warehouse operations.
Essential Skills
  • At least 1 year of recent experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or similar environment.
  • Proven ability to operate sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently.
  • Proven ability to operate stand-up forklifts safely and efficiently.
  • Experience operating reach trucks for accessing higher storage locations.
  • Experience operating cherry pickers and working comfortably at heights.
  • Experience operating clamp forklifts or clamp trucks for handling specialized loads.
  • Hands-on experience with material handling, including loading, unloading, and moving products within a warehouse.
  • Demonstrated skill in order picking using forklifts and related equipment.
  • Ability to use RF scanners for inventory tracking, picking, and data entry.
  • Experience supporting shipping and receiving functions in a warehouse setting.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness and ability to work with heights as part of daily job duties.
  • Commitment to operating all forklifts and PIV equipment safely and following established safety protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate inventory tracking, data entry, and order fulfillment.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
