Job description

The Medical Billing Specialist plays a crucial role in managing healthcare billing operations, ensuring accurate claim processing and timely payment collections. This position involves handling insurance verifications, posting payments, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations while providing support to patients and healthcare providers during the billing process. The specialist helps maintain a smooth and efficient revenue cycle for the organization. This is a full time, on-site position in our office in Palm Harbor.

Responsibilities

  • Process and submit medical claims accurately and timely
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility
  • Obtain and track referrals and prior authorizations
  • Post payments and reconcile billing accounts
  • Generate and send patient billing statements
  • Review medical codes for accuracy and compliance
  • Follow up on unpaid or denied claims
  • Provide customer support related to billing inquiries

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in medical billing
