Job description

Manufacturing/Operations Technician
Location: Santa Rosa, CA
Job Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour DOE

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Manufacturing Technician to join a growing advanced manufacturing team in Santa Rosa. This hands-on role supports multiple stages of the manufacturing process, including assembly, cleaning, coating, fabrication, metrology, inspection, and quality control. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and committed to producing high-quality products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Success in this role requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement while following established manufacturing procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Support manufacturing operations across multiple departments including Assembly, Cleaning, Coating, Fabrication, Metrology, Marking, and Final Inspection.
  • Follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures with accuracy.
  • Handle delicate components and materials while maintaining quality standards.
  • Perform product inspections, machine inspections, and basic equipment maintenance.
  • Analyze production data and report quality concerns or abnormalities.
  • Assemble fixtures, tooling, and production equipment.
  • Clean products, parts, tooling, machinery, and work areas following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Accurately enter production and quality data into manufacturing systems.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Teams, and other manufacturing software.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety, environmental, and quality policies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and work effectively within a team environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Comfortable working around machinery and manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong math skills, including percentages, decimals, and basic geometry.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must qualify as a U.S. Person under applicable export regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in optical, semiconductor, medical device, precision, or thin film manufacturing.
  • Mechanical aptitude and interest in manufacturing technology.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, manufacturing software, and data entry.
  • Associate degree or coursework in a STEM-related field is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, ISO standards, and clean room environments.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive hand movements throughout a full shift.
  • Ability to safely handle fragile precision components.
  • Lift, push, or pull up to 35 pounds occasionally.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with machinery, cleaning agents, lasers, and precision equipment.
  • Ability to perform close visual inspections, including microscope work.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, respirator, face mask, hairnet, and clean room garments when required.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
