In this pivotal role, you'll be the guardian of our data center operations, driving reliability and performance while optimizing operational efficiency across complex technical environments.
Our Program Managers are able to quickly adapt strategies, plans and solutions in response to dynamic business requirements. They also must be comfortable interfacing and driving various functional teams and individuals at all levels of the organization. If you have previous project engineering experience, are ready to take on challenges, open minded, appreciate team comradely, have an occasional sense of humor and want to help Amazon raise the bar, then this role is for you!
Successful candidates are natural self-starters who possess the ability to design, develop and deploy innovative solutions to address operational challenges while driving these solutions to completion. This role requires both independent contribution as well as the ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams (internal operations, engineering, legal, finance, procurement, environmental/health/safety, etc.). This individual has strong communication skills, is organized and thrive in ambiguity. This role will specifically help the regional leader and team help stay organized. They will get to be part of conversations that would not be standard for this role and their feedback and assistance are welcome.

Key job responsibilities
- Manage calendar, schedules, invites, lock down locations.
- Manage action plans for teams, communicate actions and provide suggested time frames based on experience.
- Facilitate creation of SOWs with partner teams to be included in contract documents including RFQ/RFPs, change order controls, purchase orders, and invoicing.
- Evaluate performance and work product of on-site partners and escalate issues through Amazon leadership.
- Identify and communicate needs in terms of employee relations.
- Monitor and enforce project schedules and quality with, operational teams, cross functional amazon team members, and partners.
- Evaluate project risks and issues and propose actionable resolutions.
- Build strong working relationships with data center leadership teams across multiple sites as well as other internal stakeholders (operations, finance, safety, security, legal, procurement).
- General knowledge of data center operations and facility management.
- Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects
- Ability to follow accurate and complete support procedures, system documentation, and issue tracking entries.
- Proactively and continually improve your level of knowledge about data center relevant technologies.

Check in with the regional leader to see what kinds of issues we are facing that day, ensure that you communicate major actions, deliverable that are at risk, look around corners and help resolve issues before they happen.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or experience in a relevant field
- 3+ yrs of experience as a project engineer, process engineer, program manager, construction management or related roles.
- Experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management. Must be well organized and able to work effectively under pressure. Proven ability to effectively manage project budgets is essential.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of data center engineering or operations experience
- Project Management Certification from industry recognized authority
- 5+ years Technical project management or Construction management
- Experience managing large, cross-functional projects exceeding $3 Million dollars in scope
- Experience performing vendor management for multiple accounts exceeding $1 million dollars in annual spend

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
