RYOBI DIE CASTING APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM

Eligibility Requirements:

  • have earned a High School diploma or equivalent
  • not be on an active final written warning or on a PIP
  • be a full-time Ryobi employee working in the department that offers the apprenticeship program, or have an approved transfer into that department pending
  • complete an Apprenticeship Program application by following the link or typing the webpage in a web browser

*External candidates - Submission of the apprenticeship application does not constitute an application for employment. Candidates who are not current Ryobi employees must also apply for an open position in the applicable department through Ryobi - Career Portal. Consideration for enrollment in the apprenticeship program will take place following completion of the introductory period.

Basic Functions:

Apprentices will learn to perform the duties of their selected program through on-the-job training (6,000 or 8,000 hours โ€“ depending on trade) and formal technical education.

Summary of Program Requirements:

Complete required on-the-job training hours AND successfully complete the required curriculum outlined in the Apprenticeship Standards.

Once accepted into the program, the associate must abide by all stipulations indicated in the Apprenticeship Standards.

Job Functions summary

Die Maintenance Machinist Apprentice

Operates milling machines, lathers, grinders, EDMs, and CNC equipment to machine and inspect die components from blueprints. Develops process plans, sharpens tooling, supports DMR completion including welding, and performs preventative maintenance.

Die Maintenance Finisher Apprentice

Inspects dies and determines repairs needed, performs welding, grinding, and basic machining to restore dies to correct dimensions. Supports die assembly and disassembly, executes quick-turn repairs to meet production deadlines, and maintains daily activity logs.

Machine Maintenance Technician Apprentice

Performs preventive and emergency maintenance on machines and equipment to maximize production availability. Maintains maintenance records, provides backup programming, and assists operators with equipment training as needed.

Quality Control Inspector Apprentice

Performs visual and dimensional inspections, reviews CMM data, and approves or holds castings based on quality standards. Completes required paperwork accurately, conducts roaming floor inspections, and supports supervisors and engineers in problem resolution.
