Job description

LockheedMartin seeks a Data Analyst who will translate raw data into compelling, actionable stories that drive business and risk management decisions. The analyst will locate novel data sources, apply rigorous statistical methods, and deliver insights through dashboards, reports, and narrative visualizations while supporting the organization's data governance initiatives.
Responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data to develop immersive stories that answer business questions. Using proven and sound statistical methods, the analyst draws insights from data, and translates those insights into action that drive business results. Data Analysts are extremely resourceful and able to find novel new data sources to enrich their analysis. They apply mathematical and statistical methods to business and risk management problems. Mine, process, and summarize data; Manage the quality assurance of data scraping, query databases for stakeholder requests, and triage data issues for timely resolutions; Analyze large datasets, draw valid inferences and prepare insights in narrative or visual forms, including dashboards; Set up and maintain data processes and new analytics capabilities; Produce and track key performance indicators; Ability to formulate functional and technical requirements from business problems; Program management of key tasks and resources to achieve cost and schedule
Key Responsibilities
Data Acquisition & Enrichment
Identify and acquire new internal and external data sources to enhance analyses.
Extract, cleanse, and preprocess data from databases, APIs, and scraped sources while maintaining data quality standards.
Work with structured data to solve tangible business problems after they've been architected, engineered, and deployed.
Examine data from multiple disparate sources to provide new insight; design and implement custom algorithms, flow processes, and layouts for complex, enterprise scale data sets used for modeling, data mining, and research.
Analysis & Insight Generation
Apply statistical and mathematical techniques to large data sets to uncover trends, patterns, and risk indicators.
Translate findings into clear, business focused narratives, visualizations, and interactive dashboards (PowerBI Report Server).
Analyze and define data requirements, specifications, and data sources to provide actionable recommendations.
Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and others to design applications that assess the validity of source data and subsequent findings.
Identify hidden patterns or relationships in data, dissect problems, and examine interrelationships between seemingly unrelated data.
Reporting & KPI Management
Design, build, and maintain KPI dashboards that provide real time performance visibility for stakeholders.
Produce regular analytical reports and ad hoc analyses that support decision making.
Develop strategic insights from large data sets and present data in creative formats.
Present technical information to both technical and non technical audiences.
Data Governance & Quality
Participate actively in the Data Governance Working Group.
Perform QA on data scraping and query processes; triage and resolve data issues promptly.
Document data lineage, metadata, and analytical methodology in accordance with governance standards.
Develop data standards, policies, and procedures; develop and implement data mining and data warehousing programs.
Requirements & Program Management
Elicit functional and technical requirements from business owners and translate them into analytic solutions.
Manage key analytical tasks and resources to meet cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
Conduct queries and develop algorithms to analyze data structures and incorporate data from multiple tool sources.
Tool & Platform Utilization
Leverage IBM Cloud Pak for Data, Oracle/SQL Server, SAP, DeltekCOBRA, SharePoint, Teamcenter, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP
