Job description

EHC is seeking a Supplier & Product Quality Assurance Engineer to support a client in the south Houston, TX area.

A day in this role

You start by validating the paper trail: receiving and organizing MTRs for incoming raw materials and components, verifying authenticity, and locking down full traceability by heat, lot, and batch. You review the calibration schedule, update the equipment registry, and confirm instruments are in tolerance before the shop gets moving.

Mid-morning, you partner with suppliers. You review Certificates of Compliance, SDS, and test reports, assist with qualification and performance monitoring, and help close out supplier nonconformances. When needed, you contribute to supplier audits and scorecards.

After lunch, your focus shifts to third-party activities. You coordinate witness testing and inspections with agencies such as DNV, ABS, Lloyd's, and Bureau Veritas: issuing agendas, Inspection & Test Plans, and notification letters. You compile supporting documentation in advance, from material traceability records and welder qualifications to NDT procedures.

On the floor, you serve as the primary point of contact during witness points including material receiving, welding, heat treatment, NDT, hydrostatic FATs, and dimensional checks. You document outcomes, capture signoffs, manage punch lists, and record any hold points released.

Before close, you log and categorize NCRs, deviations, and concessions; facilitate root cause analysis; and monitor corrective actions to completion. You ensure dispositions comply with API and customer protocols. You update quality KPIs such as NCR rates and witness hold point resolution and prepare concise reports. Throughout, you maintain quality records and inspection logs and support API Q1, ISO 9001, or other quality system requirements, assisting in internal and external audits and safeguarding traceability.

What you'll own
  • End-to-end control of MTR intake, authenticity checks, and traceability management (heat/lot/batch).
  • Administration of the calibration program and upkeep of the equipment registry.
  • Supplier qualification, approval, and ongoing performance monitoring; support audits and scorecards.
  • Review of CoCs, SDS, and test reports; resolution of supplier-related nonconformances.
  • Scheduling and hosting third-party inspections and witness testing with DNV, ABS, Lloyd's, Bureau Veritas, and other customer representatives.
  • Preparation of agendas, ITPs, notification letters, and technical packs (traceability records, welder qualifications, NDT procedures).
  • Real-time coordination of witness points and thorough documentation of signoffs, punch lists, and released hold points.
  • Administration of NCRs, deviations, and concessions; root cause analysis and CAPA follow-through.
  • Conformance to API and customer protocols for product disposition; tracking and reporting of quality KPIs.
  • Maintenance of quality records and inspection logs; support for API Q1 or ISO 9001 systems and internal/external audits.
Your background
  • Quality inspection experience and strong quality control fundamentals.
  • Supplier management capability, including performance monitoring and corrective action.
  • Hands-on tolerance analysis.
  • Experience with ISO 9001; exposure to API Q1 is a plus.

Location: South Houston, TX area (client site via EHC).
