Our IT team’s mission is to push the boundaries of technology with the intention of going above and beyond to aid stores and customers and deliver timely solutions to benefit all members of Grocery Outlet. Our team consists of problem solvers and go-getters who are dedicated to being service-oriented and solving important problems.

About the Role:

The Data Solution Architect will help define strategy both within and outside of SAP, drive design and technical implementation, and architect innovative solutions in close collaboration with the business partners. Solution Architect will work on multiple projects from gathering customer requirements to implementing the solutions in an extremely fast-paced environment.

As a Data Solution Architect, your role on the Business Technology team is focused on designing and implementing solutions for business using the SAP S/4. You'll be responsible for analyzing business requirements, configuring and implementing solutions, and ensuring the SAP landscape is optimized for the best possible performance. You’ll also be responsible for collaborating with other teams and business stakeholders to enhance system functionality. This role reports to the Sr. Enterprise Data Architect.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborate closely with product managers and other engineers to understand business priorities, business workflows, and architect data solutions.
  • You will go well beyond bespoke tables to solve one-off use cases. You will model the enterprise business lines with robust, crisp documentation with target gold tables and pipeline flow.
  • Lead SAP HANA Side CAR migration to SAP BDC transformations.
  • Architect SAP Datasphere & BDC environments (Space, Semantics layer, integration).
  • Define extraction strategies using ODP, CDS, SLT & API’s.
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate tech, tools, and methodologies for data modeling if required. (ERwin, SQLDBM etc.).
  • Design, develop, and maintain data models, pipelines, and workflows within SAP Datasphere.
  • Handled Replication flows and inbound & outbound data flows.
  • Partner with data science and reporting teams to understand data requirements and translate them into models.
  • Mentor Data Engineers & lead as the team grows as internal and external.
  • Share your knowledge by giving brown bags, tech talks, and evangelizing appropriate tech and engineering best practices.
  • Experience of defining enterprise level Data Architecture for complex data integration, reporting & analytics projects in cloud environment.
  • Experience of implementing large scale solutions involving ETL/Data Ingestion/Data Integration, Business Intelligence, Reports, Dashboards, and analytics components.
  • Experience of defining/implementing key data management frameworks such as data quality, metadata management, master/reference data management, data governance, data security, etc. using standard enterprise tools e.g., Azure Purview, Databricks Unity Catalog, SAP BDC Catalog etc.
  • Support Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), or other BI tools for reporting and dashboards.
  • Ability to understand On-prem and cloud-based workloads based on requirements and constraints and provide suggestions for best possible solution.
  • Ability to work with various Business and IT stakeholders in establishing the Architecture, Design, and implementation artifacts.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, explain and present Architecture and design to IT leaders and other stakeholders.

  • Base Salary Range: $140,000 - $155,000 Annually

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or Related field.
  • 10+ years of industry experience in SAP HANA Native Modelling, SAP BW & SAP Analytics on Cloud (SAC).
  • Min. 2 end to end implementation & proven experience at the data architect level leading SAP HANA Side CAR / SAP BW Modernization.
  • 2+ years of experience with Databricks environment.
  • Nice to have: Familiarity with real-time ML systems within Databricks, SAP Databricks will be very beneficial.
