Job description

Our Technology team wakes up every day with one goal in mind - connecting Canadians to the people and things that matter most. Together, we are proud to support 30 million Canadians each month through managing a robust portfolio that champions leading-edge technology. We drive large-scale, complex, and high-visibility technology projects and programs that shape the future of technology in Canada and expand connectivity from coast to coast. If you are interested in being a part of this, consider applying for the following opportunity:

Who we're looking for:

We're looking for a ย Sr. Manager, Data Solution Architecture to lead a team of architects who design and deliver scalable, secure, and reusable data solutions.ย

This role sits within the Data & AI team and is grounded in data architecture and engineering, platform and application design, and data modeling for analytics and AI, while also extending into broader solution architecture. You'll guide the team in shaping solutions end-to-end, from data pipelines and semantic models to integration patterns.ย

What you'll be doing:

Lead & Grow the Team:ย

  • Lead and mentor a team of data and AI solution architects, fostering a hands-on, build-oriented cultureย
  • Support architects in developing both design depth and practical implementation skillsย
  • Create space for experimentation, prototyping, and learning using modern tools ย

Architect End-to-End Solutions:ย

  • Identify, document, and promote reusable architectural patterns, standards, and best practices across data and solution designย
  • Guide the design of scalable, secure solutions in the data and AI spaceย
  • Work across the lifecycle, from high-level architecture to detailed design and implementation supportย
  • Ensure solutions balance reusability, performance, and real-world delivery constraintsย

Stay Close to the Build:ย

  • Partner with engineering teams during implementationย
  • Contribute to prototyping, design validation, and code reviewsย
  • Bring practical insight into what can go wrong in production and how to mitigate it earlyย

Shape Data & Platform Architecture:ย

  • Lead the design of data models and data pipelines, ensuring quality, scalability, and usabilityย
  • Define patterns for data consumption, integration, and interoperabilityย
  • Collaborate with governance, security, and platform teams to ensure solutions meet enterprise standardsย

Collaborate Across the Organization:ย

  • Work closely with product, engineering, and business teams to translate needs into practical solutionsย
  • Influence decisions through clear communication and pragmatic trade-offsย
  • Drive alignment across architecture, engineering, and delivery teamsย
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, translating complex concepts into clear, actionable insightsย

Explore Emerging Capabilities:ย

  • Bring curiosity and interest in AI-enabled solutions and development approachesย
  • Encourage experimentation with tools that accelerate design and delivery (e.g., coding assistants, automation, agentic patterns)ย

What you bring:

  • We recognize strong candidates come from different paths. You might be a great fit if you have:ย
  • Experience designing and delivering data solutions: ย
  • Data pipelines (ETL/ELT, batch or streaming)ย
  • Data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical, semantic)ย
  • Data integration and analytics platformsย
  • A solid understanding of data platforms and cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, Databricks, Snowflake. BigQuery)ย
  • A hands-on mindset that gives you comfort participating in code reviews and technical discussionsย
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or influencing others ย

You'll stand out if you also have:ย

  • Interest and/or experience in AI/ML or AI-enabled data use casesย
  • Exposure to broader solution architectureย
  • Experience aligning data architecture with governance and quality practicesย
  • A pragmatic approach - you know how to balance ideal design with delivery realitiesย

How We Work:ย

  • We are data-first, but not data-onlyย
  • We expect architects to be close to the build, not removed from itย
  • We value practical solutions over theoretical perfectionย
  • We support people in growing into adjacent areas, not just staying in their laneย

A Note on Applyingย

  • We know many people may hesitate to apply unless they meet every requirement. If this role interests you and your experience aligns with some (not all) of what we're looking for, we encourage you to apply.ย

What's in it for you?

We believe in investing in our people and helping them reach their potential as valuable members of our team. As part of our team, you'll have access to a wide range of incredible resources, growth opportunities, discounts, and perks, including:

  • Competitive salary & annual bonus
  • Competitive & flexible health and dental benefits, pension plan, RRSP, TFSA, and Stock matching programs.
  • Discounts: Enjoy up to 50% off Rogers Services and Blue Jays Tickets, 25% off TSC items, and a 20% discount on all wireless accessories sold in Rogers stores.
  • Paid time off for volunteering
  • Company matching contributions to charities you support
  • Growth & Development Opportunities:
  • Self-driven career development programs (E.g. MyPath program)
  • Rogers First: priority in applying to internal roles of interest
  • Wellness Programs:
    • Homewood employee & family assistance program
    • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) & Virtual therapy sessions
    • Low cost gym membership

    • Strong commitment to diversity and inclusion with employee resource groups supporting equity-deserving groups including groups representing People of Colour, 2SLGBTQIA+, Indigenous Peoples, Persons with Disabilities and Women. We all bring something different, and we know what makes us different makes us great.

To protect our people, brand and assets, a pre-employment background check will be conducted. As part of our selection process, all candidates must clear a criminal background check. Additionally, a credit check and drivers abstract may be required depending on the role.

Schedule:ย Full time
Shift: Day
Length of Contract: Not Applicable (Regular Position)
Work Location:ย 8200 Dixie Road (101), Brampton, ONย
Travel Requirements: None
Background Check(s) Required: Canadian Criminal Record Checkย
Posting Category/Function: Technology & Information Technology
Requisition ID: 333771

To support career growth, collaboration, and high-performing teams, all Corporate Employees are expected to work onsite. We believe that in-person connection strengthens our culture and drives industry-leading performance.
