General Summary

No prior data processing experience is required, but is preferred. We will train you in all necessary programs and job requirements!

The Data Processor functions as an extension of the accounting department and works with the Receiving Manager, Store Manager, and Accounting Manager to receive and process merchandise for their store and ensure correct product information.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Customer Service & Basic Requirements

  • Provide a positive representation of Bill's Ace Hardware.
  • Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
  • Possess excellent communication skills.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Ensure all pages and calls are answered promptly, courteously and effectively.
  • Check email daily and throughout the day.
  • Communicate any cost control or sales idea to the Manager.
  • Participate in store meetings.
  • Be professional in appearance and actions.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Data Processing

  • No prior data processing experience is required, but is preferred. We will train you in all necessary programs and job requirements!
  • Data Processor will work with the programs Epicor/Eagle Browser, Microsoft Excel, Ace Net as a key part of their job so computer skills are required, but familiarity with the programs is not.
  • The Data Processor functions as an extension of the accounting department and work with the Receiving Manager and Store Manager to receive and process merchandise orders for their store which will include the handling and processing of invoices, purchase orders, special orders, rain checks, bill of landing, freight bills, inter-store transfers, etc.
  • The Data Processor also handles weekly and daily price changes as necessary to facilitate the sign and item price changes in the store as well as work to ensure that all product information is correct including, but not limited to, price, description, UPC, cost, etc.
  • The nature of the job is time sensitive so consistent attendance and completion of job tasks is critical to the functioning of the organization.

Physical Demands

Standing, walking, lifting (up to 25 lbs)

Time Commitment Options - Full Time or Part Time Available!

Part Time Requires one of the following:

  • Work both Saturday and Sunday - 16 hours OR
  • Work (5) 4 hour weekday afternoon/evening shifts - 20 hours

Overtime is paid on more than 8 hours in a day
