WACO FAMILY MEDICINE 

Serve the underserved with like-minded people!  Waco Family Medicine is a large Federally Qualified Health Center in Central Texas with 13 locations across Waco, Temple, McGregor, and Hillsboro. 

Offering a wide range of services, we pride ourselves on a strong commitment to equitable, evidence-based holistic medical, dental and behavioral healthcare.Our community health center is a designated Patient Centered Medical Home, coordinating a robust collaborative of community health partnership (wellness center, prescription produce program, teaching kitchen, medical legal partnership). In addition to in-house pharmacy, WFM provides a sizeable network of in-house specialty service clinics (HIV, Hep C, Sports Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, Rheumatology, Dermatology, Wound Care). Through these various programs, we offer comprehensive, affordable primary care to patients across a broad range of demographics. Our passion is to facilitate whole person health and wellness for our patients and community. 

We are seeking candidates whose professional goals are to achieve equitable health outcomes.  Our patient population of 75,000 patients is 24% African American, 43% Latin American with 20% Spanish-speaking.

GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION 

Temple, Texas is a charming city with a blend of history, outdoor activities, and local culture. It is located roughly halfway between Dallas and Austin. Temple is known for its rich history, vibrant railroad heritage, and its position as a key medical hub in Central Texas. It has lots to offer such as many beautiful parks, museums and fun activities for the whole family such as Lions Junction Family Water Park. Many of their museums highlight the Czech community in Central Texas, offering exhibits about Czech traditions, immigration, and art. 

The city is home to the Scott & White Medical Center, one of the largest and most comprehensive medical facilities in the state. Overall, Temple is known for its historical significance, cultural richness, healthcare, and outdoor opportunities. 

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED 

  • MD or DO degree from accredited medical school program. 

  • Board eligible or Board certification required. 

  • Current license to practice medicine in the state of Texas. 

  • Current DEA & DPS license. Current BLS certification 

SKILLS  

  • Provision of clinical healthcare services for clients in an ambulatory clinic setting. 

  • Bilingual (Spanish & English) preferred, though not required. 

  • Participation in quality improvement programs
