§ Duties:

The incoming Associate or Counsel will serve as a strategic architect for global data initiatives, balancing high-level regulatory advisory work with intense investigative response. This role is designed for a practitioner who thrives at the intersection of law, technology, and corporate strategy.


Core responsibilities include:

⨖ Formulating comprehensive compliance frameworks for cutting-edge, data-driven products, ensuring alignment with evolving US and international statutory requirements.

⨖ Orchestrating privacy and cybersecurity due diligence for high-value corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and initial public offerings.

⨖ Leading complex cybersecurity incident investigations, managing the lifecycle of breach response, crisis communication, and mandatory disclosure obligations.

⨖ Defending clients in high-stakes class action litigation and representing entities during inquiries by the FTC, HHS, state attorneys general, and international data protection authorities.

⨖ Drafting and negotiating sophisticated Data Protection Agreements (DPAs) and establishing robust vendor management protocols for global enterprises.

⨖ Advising C-suite executives and boards of directors on data governance, gap assessments, and enterprise-wide risk mitigation strategies.


§ Qualifications Required:

Candidates must meet the following rigorous standards for consideration:

⨖ Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a top-tier, ABA-accredited law school with exemplary academic credentials.

⨖ Active Bar Membership in good standing within New York, D.C. and/or Massachusetts (or the ability to waiver in by comity)

⨖ Five to eight (5-8) years of substantive experience specializing in privacy and cybersecurity law within a large-law firm or specialized boutique environment.

⨖ Proven experience managing large-scale data breaches and responding to federal or international regulatory investigations.

⨖ Expert-level knowledge of the GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, FAR , HMDA and/or other emerging domestic and international regulatory frameworks and data privacy standards/laws.


§ Skills:

⨖ Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US, CIPP/E) designation is highly preferred.

⨖ Technical proficiency or a background in computer science, data analytics, or information security systems.

⨖ Experience in the fintech, healthcare (HIPAA/HITECH), or artificial intelligence sectors is a significant advantage.

⨖ Exceptional rhetorical and drafting abilities, capable of distilling complex technical risks into actionable legal counsel for non-technical stakeholders.
