Associate Attorney to join its highly regarded
Data, Privacy & Cybersecurity practice. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on
sophisticated privacy, data processing, and cybersecurity matters arising in c
orporate and technology transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, and other strategic commercial transactions. The successful candidate will join an industry-leading team advising both private and public companies across a broad range of innovative sectors, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, cloud computing, software, and fintech.
Candidate Profile
- JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
- Active Bar Admission in Texas or California, in good standing
- 1-3 years of substantive experience in privacy, data processing, cybersecurity, and transactional matters
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, technology transactions, or other transactional work is required
- Experience advising clients in technology-focused industries is preferred
- Familiarity with regulatory policy and enforcement matters is desirable
- CIPP certification is a plus
- Superior academic credentials and outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong analytical, drafting, and client-management skills with exceptional attention to detail
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on privacy, data processing, and cybersecurity issues arising in mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, and other commercial and strategic transactions
- Conduct privacy and cybersecurity diligence in connection with corporate and technology transactions
- Draft, review, and negotiate transaction-related privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity provisions and agreements
- Counsel clients regarding privacy compliance obligations and risk management considerations in complex transactions
- Collaborate with attorneys across corporate, technology, intellectual property, and regulatory practices to support sophisticated domestic and cross-border matters
- Work with innovative companies in emerging industries, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, software, and fintech

Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive Salary: $225,000 - $260,000, commensurate with experience and class year
