Job description

Role: Validation Engineer /Integration Engineer

Location: Plano TX

Duration Long Term Contract

Key Responsibilities:

1. Private 5G Network Deployment:

Assist in the design, configuration, and deployment of private 5G networks to meet enterprise-specific requirements.

Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to implement private 5G solutions, ensuring integration with existing IT and telecommunications infrastructures.

Provide on-site technical support during the installation, testing, and commissioning of 5G equipment and systems.

2. Private 5G Release Validation:

Draft and execute test cases to validate quarterly Private 5G solution releases at the Ericsson testing facility.

Document software defects with Private 5G releases and work with Private 5G product until to resolve in timely manner.

Utilize network management tools to analyze network traffic, performance data, and system logs to isolate issues and ensure optimal functionality.

Perform field tests to verify network performance against key metrics, such as throughput, latency, and connection stability.

Conduct end-to-end testing of 5G services, including voice, video, and IoT applications, ensuring that the network meets service-level agreements (SLAs) and quality benchmarks.

Assist in validating new network designs, upgrades, and software updates prior to full deployment.

3. Technical Support & Troubleshooting:

Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving complex technical issues related to private 5G network hardware, software, and configurations.

Provide hands-on troubleshooting, including diagnosing equipment failures, resolving interference issues, and optimizing signal strength.

Collaborate with vendors and technology partners for advanced support and issue escalation when necessary.

4. Network Security & Compliance:

Ensure that private 5G networks comply with security protocols, including encryption, authentication, and network slicing for secure data transmission.

Work with cybersecurity teams to implement network security measures that protect against vulnerabilities and threats specific to 5G environments.

5. Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain detailed records of all network activities, including installations, configurations, maintenance, and troubleshooting steps.

Generate reports on network performance, test results, and any technical issues encountered, providing recommendations for improvements.

Assist in creating technical documentation and training materials for internal teams on private 5G network operations.

6. Collaboration with Engineering Teams:

Work closely with senior engineers, network architects, and other technical teams to support the development and optimization of private 5G solutions.

Provide feedback and insights based on field experience to improve network designs and deployment strategies.

Support cross-functional teams, including IT and operations, in aligning network performance with business goals.

7. Continuous Improvement & Learning:

Stay up to date with emerging technologies in 5G, network virtualization, edge computing, and IoT.

Participate in professional development opportunities and pursue relevant certifications to enhance expertise in private 5G networks.

Collaborate in research and development projects aimed at advancing private 5G network capabilities and features.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

Experience: 3-5 years of experience in telecommunications, networking, or wireless communications, with specific hands-on experience in 5G or LTE networks preferred.

Certifications: Relevant industry certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP), or specific 5G-related certifications from vendors (e.g., Nokia, Ericsson, or Huawei).

Technical Skills:

Strong understanding of 5G network architecture, including core, radio access network (RAN), and mobile edge computing (MEC).

Proficiency in deploying and managing private 5G or LTE networks, with knowledge of network slicing, spectrum allocation, and radio frequency (RF) optimization.

Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., NetFlow, Wireshark, or similar).

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for telecommunications and wireless network issues.
