CVS Media Exchange [CMX] is dedicated to driving measurable outcomes for our suppliers, merchants, stores, GMs, brand advertisers, and agencies. Our full-funnel ad solutions leverage CVS's in-store and online data, extensive reach, and to provide measurable results for our clientele. With a range of flexible pricing and buying models, including self-service; these solutions help businesses build brand awareness, engage with CVS consumers, and convert CVS consumers to shoppers.

The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for leading strategic coordination and performance oversight across digital media campaigns, ensuring seamless collaboration between internal teams and external suppliers. This individual manages the end-to-end campaign lifecycle-from kick-off through execution and wrap-up-driving precision in launch, optimization mid-flight, and delivery of actionable insights. The ideal candidate is a proactive partner with deep expertise in media strategy and supplier engagement, capable of identifying upsell opportunities and nurturing relationships to expand partnerships and generate incremental revenue for the business.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Strategic Planning & Campaign Development

    • Develop annual brand and media strategies aligned with advertiser goals and growth objectives.

    • Create campaign strategies and audience targeting recommendations tailored to brand and product lines.

    • Build strategic supplier growth proposals based on a deep understanding of supplier business goals and marketing objectives.

  • Client & Supplier Engagement

    • Serve as the primary liaison for supplier communications, including feedback, approvals, and creative revisions.

    • Maintain strong relationships with clients, managing day-to-day business and identifying opportunities to drive incremental revenue.

    • Educate advertisers on performance metrics, insights, and optimization strategies to improve results.

  • Campaign Execution & Optimization

    • Lead campaign kick-offs, manage briefs, and confirm media planning details.

    • Oversee campaign performance in collaboration with internal teams.

    • Monitor campaign performance using KPIs and data-driven insights to optimize outcomes.

  • Reporting & Performance Analysis

    • Perform in-depth data analysis to deliver actionable insights and recommendations for short- and long-term media strategies.

    • Collaborate with Insights and Strategy team to ensure reporting accuracy.

    • Deliver campaign performance reports, conduct wrap-up calls, and finalize Campaign Performance Reviews (CPRs)

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Work closely with sales, merchandising, and internal teams to drive strong results and advertiser satisfaction.

    • Partner with campaign management, I&S, and billing teams to ensure seamless execution and accurate delivery.

    • Support monthly billing processes and maintain Salesforce updates for campaign tracking.

This role is hybrid and commutable to one of the following Corporate Hubs, which you must work in the office of 2 days a week (Tuesday - Wednesday):

  • Boston or Wellesley, MA

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years experience in account management, media planning, digital marketing, or retail media (CPG/retail preferred), including upselling experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to lead day-to-day client relationships and collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to meet supplier needs.

  • Experience developing media plan recommendations aligned with advertiser goals and performance objectives.

  • Strong follow-through and accountability, ensuring seamless coordination across teams and timely execution of deliverables.

  • Familiarity with advertising analytics, data platforms, and DMP technologies, paired with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Resourceful and adaptable in navigating a large organization while thriving in a nimble, fast-moving environment.

  • A collaborative team player with a proactive mindset and a willingness to contribute as a key individual contributor.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present clearly and effectively to internal stakeholders and external partners.

  • Confident in escalating and presenting key issues to leadership with clarity and strategic insight.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to influence supplier investment and drive growth through CMX media solutions.

The typical pay range for this role is:

$66,440.00 - $151,898.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
