Where You Will Work:

Unit 1- 33 bed Med Surg/Ortho/Trauma- referral of acute patients from hospitals, LTAC, LTC, home- Most nurses who will adapt to Unit 1 are nurses who have worked in a med-surg, ortho, post op units and other rehabilitation facilities
Post op ortho/CABG
Amputations
MVA/Multiple trauma other from car accident/gunshot/falls- external fixators
Hemodialysis acute/chronic-PD seldom
General debilitation
Wounds with wound vac therapy
Long term IV antibiotic therapy
Unit 2- 25 bedNeuro/Traumatic Brain Injury/ Spinal Cord Injury/ CVA/ Aneurysm
Craniotomy
CVA
Brain bleeds
Peg tubes-swallowing difficulty due to CVA
Trach-mostly capped and seldomly trach collar to oxygen-managed by our Respiratory therapist day & night
Braces/splints due to mobility deficits from CVA

We're Looking For:

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Add additional preferred qualifications

What You'll Do:

  • As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

About This Location:

Atrium Health Navicent The Medical Center is a nationally recognized academic medical center, nationally-verified Level 1 Trauma Center, Magnet hospital for nursing, and serves a service area of 30 counties and a population of nearly 750,000 persons. MCNH has over 4,500 employees and a medical staff of approximately 700 physicians. As the second largest hospital in Georgia, it is licensed for 637 beds, including pediatrics, medical surgical, trauma and cardiac surgery. The Atrium Health Navicent Emergency Department, with helipad capability and three urgent care centers, treats over 140,000 visitors per year. MCNH provides a broad range of community-based outpatient diagnostic, primary care, wellness and comprehensive rehabilitation services. It is the primary academic hospital for Mercer University School of Medicine, providing residency and fellowship programs for over 100 residents and is affiliated with multiple universities as a clinical education site. MCNH also operates the Doctors Office Building.
