We are seeking a Service Engineer – Turbocharger to deliver expert technical support and comprehensive maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for large turbocharger systems typically found on marine engines and large-bore industrial applications.

About the Role:

As a Service Engineer – Turbocharger, you will:

  • Perform Assembly and Disassembly: Execute assembly and disassembly of turbochargers and their components according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Inspect and Diagnose: Assess turbochargers for wear and damage, accurately diagnose mechanical issues, and determine the necessary repairs.
  • Conduct Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, reconditioning, and parts replacement to optimize turbocharger performance.
  • Prepare Technical Reports: Write detailed technical reports on the condition of turbochargers and the maintenance or repair work performed.
  • Ensure Quality Control: Verify that all maintenance and repairs meet established quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Provide Customer Support: Offer technical advice and support to customers, both onsite and remotely.
  • Mentor and Lead Teams: Lead small teams of technicians as needed, ensuring efficient collaboration and skill development.
  • Travel Extensively: Ability to work weekends as required to support service schedules
Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Education: Recognized electrical or mechanical certification from an accredited trade school, military training institution, or associate degree in a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with turbochargers (e.g., ABB, MAN, NAPIER, MET), marine diesel engines, or similar mechanical systems. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Skills: Strong technical understanding of turbocharger systems, effective problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to write detailed technical reports.
  • Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Salary: $40.00 - $58.00 per hour (based on experience, skillset, and location).
