Specialist

Position Responsibilities


Primary Responsibilities


The Insurance Customer Retention Cross-Sales Specialist is responsible for strengthening client relationships, increasing household policy retention, identifying additional insurance needs, and providing exceptional customer service. This role focuses on maximizing opportunities within our existing client base while supporting the daily operations of the agency.


Client Outreach Relationship Building


• Proactively contact current policyholders to build and strengthen client relationships.

• Prioritize outreach to households whose policies were acquired from another agency or agent’s office.

• Conduct regular policy review appointments by phone, virtual meeting, or in person.

• Maintain consistent follow-up with clients to ensure satisfaction and identify future insurance needs.


Cross-Selling Account Development


• Review existing accounts to identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities.

• Recommend additional products and coverage enhancements.

• Schedule future review dates (X-Dates).

• Document conversations and follow-up activities.

• Meet or exceed agency goals for cross-sold policies and account rounding.


Coverage Reviews


• Evaluate current coverages for adequacy, gaps, discounts, and eligibility.

• Educate clients on coverage options.

• Prepare quotes and proposals.

• Present recommendations professionally.


Referral Generation


• Request referrals from clients.

• Obtain contact information for referrals including phone number and email address.

• Document and follow up on referrals.



Customer Service Policy Support


• Assist with policy servicing requests.

• Process policy changes, endorsements, cancellations, reinstatements, and other service transactions.

• Document changes in client file.

• Answer client questions regarding coverage, billing, and policy information.

• Follow up with clients to complete all application documents.

• Communicate with underwriters and clients regarding post bind and renewal inspections.

• Assist clients with compliance requirements.


Sales Support


• Assist with quoting inbound calls and walk-ins.

• Prepare accurate quotes and support agency sales objectives.

• Participate in marketing activities through email campaigns and business to business marketing events.


Administrative Responsibilities


• Maintain accurate client records.

• Complete documentation according to agency procedures.

• Follow compliance requirements.

• Participate in meetings and training.


Performance Expectations


• Deliver outstanding customer service.

• Consistently identify cross-sell opportunities.

• Increase retention and household penetration.

• Schedule policy reviews.

• Generate referrals.

• Maintain professionalism and timely follow-up.


Requirements

Must have an active Property Casualty license.

Sales or customer service experience (preferred but not required)

Life, Health Annuities license preferred OR willing to get with training materials provided at no cost.
