Weโ€™re looking for a Distribution Engineer  in the Atlanta GA areaโ€”are you ready to explore your career with us?
 
As a Midโ€‘Level Distribution Engineer with Asplundh Engineering Services (AES), you will support safe, reliable electrical infrastructure by designing upgrades, evaluating system performance, and partnering closely with utility clients across Georgia. Youโ€™ll leverage bestโ€‘inโ€‘industry tools, remote flexibility, and handsโ€‘on collaboration to deliver highโ€‘quality distribution engineering solutions. This role combines engineering expertise, customer interaction, and project ownershipโ€”offering exceptional growth within an industry leader backed by 100+ years of innovation.
 
WHAT YOUโ€™LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering; BS EE + 4+ years experience or MS + 2+ years relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in distribution design and distribution reliability.
  • Proficiency with system analysis tools including CYME Distribution, CYMTCC, and device coordination.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to work directly with clients and internal project teams.
  • Ability to work remotely while maintaining local availability within Georgia (preferably Atlanta area) for field meetings and onโ€‘site coordination.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
  • Evaluate electrical distribution systems and apply engineering design standards to develop upgrade or replacement designs in compliance with utility requirements.
  • Prepare engineering drawings, detailed project estimates, and constructionโ€‘ready documentation.
  • Utilize NESC clearance requirements, utility construction standards, and poleโ€‘framing guidelines to update distribution infrastructure.
  • Regularly work in client proprietary software to complete all components of the distribution design workflow.
  • Coordinate project details and work orders with utility personnel, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Review and validate engineering drawings to ensure technical accuracy, safety, and reliability.
  • Contribute to reliability improvement efforts through system modeling, device coordination, and protective scheme evaluation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
