Senior Commercial Relationship Associate

Job Summary

The Relationship Associate participates in the support of commercial client relationships for our Corporate and Middle Market teams in our Southwest market. They contribute to activities that generate new business. This position collaborates with product specialists, portfolio managers, and operational support specialists. They help manage the on-going monitoring of portfolio quality and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships to help generate deal flow.

  • Assist in closing new deals.

  • Help with various aspects of the relationship management process to ensure a high-level client experience.

  • Work with portfolio managers and engage with borrowers to expand the banking relationship.

  • Partner with management to ensure the achievement of goals.

  • Track production and help with forecasting process.

  • Use independent judgement and discretion to make decisions.

  • Analyze and resolve complex problems for both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Serve as the primary servicing contact for clients' account services. Process account openings, maintenance requests, documentation updates, and compliance requirements.

  • Monitor service-level agreements (SLAs) and resolve client issues promptly.

  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers and credit teams to support client needs.

  • Assist in maintaining accurate records in the CRM system and pipeline management.

  • Support and organize client engagement initiatives including corporate events, networking forums, seminars, and relationship-building activities.

  • Performs special projects as required.

  • Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.

  • Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • 5 years minimum experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education level: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent)

Competencies:

  • Good negotiation skills in addition to excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including; Word and Excel

  • Demonstrates a strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by communicating clearly, engaging in proactive collaboration, and leveraging cross functional insights. Aligns relationship building efforts with enterprise goals to accelerate performance and drive strategic results

  • Builds trusted client relationships, whether internal or external, by identifying needs and delivering tailored solutions to enhance the overall client experience

  • Fosters or supports a positive work culture and productive work environment, displaying importance of effective relationships with customers and stakeholders

  • Some travel may be required

  • Physical demands (ADA): The job requires a moderate degree of physical exertion and stamina such as standing, sitting, walking, driving or infrequent lifting
