Kennebec Pharmacy and Home Care is your local home infusion pharmacy and home medical equipment provider dedicated to making better living possible. Job Summary: The Infusion Intake Respresentative is responsible for coordinating and processing home infusion therapy referrals while supporting infusion pharmacy operations. This role handles the patient intake process from referral through scheduling, ensuring timely verification, documentation, communication, and coordination of services. The position will work closely with pharmacists, nurses, billing staff, physicians, and outside providers to support continuity of care.
Responsibilities include:

  • Receive and execute the initial patient intake process to ensure that patient verification, assessment, teaching, and scheduling of services occur in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and external providers to ensure seamless coordination and continuity of patient care.
  • Ensure all patient-related documentation, including departmental forms, is accurately completed, and submitted in a timely manner, according to internal policy and external regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with billing department to verify client eligibility and benefits to maintain accurate client eligibility information in CareTend system.
  • Explain benefits and financial responsibility information to clients, care managers and/or clinical staff as needed.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints.
  • Coordinate deliveries/shipments, including add-on deliveries with driver manager.

Requirements:
  • High School graduate or equivalent, with customer service experience. Medical terminology literacy preferred.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills, with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, multi-task, and exhibit effective problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
