Job description

Seeking dependable, responsible team player with good work ethic and communication skills for a full time office position at a service focused refuse & recycling collection company in Eugene, Oregon. Duties will include multi-line phone answering, customer service, data entry, billing, routes dispatch and sales staff support. Individual must have be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, exhibit good customer service skills on phone and in person as well as good data entry speed and accuracy. Position is 40 hours per week.

Essential Functions-
  • Assist customers with service requests and questions at the front counter and on the phone. (i.e. - pick up day, rate quotes, misses, payments, special service requests, etc.)
  • Clearly and effectively dispatch to drivers on route by radio
  • Process driver paperwork daily by entering driver notes into work orders
  • Process and enter payments daily, including opening mail, entering data into system, and processing completed batches
  • Enter work order information for all service requests and roll cart changes
  • Process credit card payments received
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and computer entries for residential account changes and new starts
  • Assemble and post mailings as assigned
  • Database and customer information update projects as directed by supervisor
  • Respond to customer voicemails in a timely manner

Required Experience & Abilities-
  • Able to handle multiple tasks while dealing with interruptions from telephone and truck radios.
  • Must have skills in being organized, setting workload priority, managing work pressures, and meeting deadlines.
  • Problem solve and deal with difficult customers situations to provide satisfactory outcomes and superior customer service
  • Accuracy and attention to detail in handling customer information and requests
  • Able to collaborate with coworkers and work together to achieve a common goal
  • Work independently in absence of supervision
  • Understand and follow work orders and other oral or written instructions
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationship with those contacted in the course of work
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, to deal with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Must be an initiator in taking responsibilities.
  • Skilled in computer related functions of MS Word, Excel and database software.
  • Must be familiar with the internet browsing, group messaging and e-mail programs.

Education or Equivalent Experience -
  • Typically requires high school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of office experience is required
Salary -
  • Starting wage - $23.35 per hour. Current top wage - $26.15 per hour. Medical and dental benefits after 60 days. Probationary period is 90 days.
