JOB DESCRIPTION - CUSTODIAL SUPERVISOR
JOB TITLE Custodial Supervisor
REPORTS TO Director of Contracts
DIVISION Contracts
FLSA Exempt
Summary
Supervise and assist custodial personnel performing all manners of Custodial Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Train/evaluate custodial workers in all the essential functions of their assigned duties.
Ensure all custodial requirements maintain contracted quality performance standards.
Set time standards and perform time studies as necessary.
Implement/Manage custodial workers weekly schedules.
Order/Monitor supply inventory and update as necessary.
Implement custodial maintenance schedule.
Have the ability to determine what custodial procedure should be used in all phases of custodial
operations, and have the ability to perform these procedures as necessary to complete the job.
Working knowledge of proper use/maintenance of custodial equipment.
Maintain all necessary documentation required by the agency, CARF, NISH, the Department of Labor
and other regulatory and funding organizations.
Comply with all Agency policies, procedures and safety standards throughout work areas and maintain
same to meet CARF, Department of Labor and other regulatory standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises custodial personnel who perform custodial operations. Carries out supervisory
responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work;
appraising performance; reviewing employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Will be required conduct walking documented inspections and make necessary corrections.
Qualifications
Must have reliable transportation to and from the work site. Must have a home phone for call-in situations.
Must be able to work required shift. No lifting limitations. Must have a valid SC driver's license. Must have
own vehicle as meetings and appointments outside the agency are necessary to attend. The employee
must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the level required in the contract and upon
receiving clearance eligibility must begin work within 30 days.
Education and Experience
Two years supervisory experience in all phases of custodial operations. Experience in working with
disabled individuals preferred.
Physical Demands
While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, reach
with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; use hands to finger,
handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee
must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and
occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts
and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and risk of
electrical shock.
