Job Type: Full-time - Regular
Job Classification: Hourly (Non-exempt)
Workplace Location: Los Angeles - 8949 Wilshire, Pickford
Compensation: $20.00 per hour
Summary/Objective:
The Custodial Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment within our facilities. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks. This position is hiring for the PM shift.
Essential Functions of the Job:
  • Perform day-to-day custodial functions as assigned.
  • Clean windows, furnishings, fixtures, hallways, stairways, elevators, escalators, restrooms, and ledges daily as instructed.
  • Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing buffing, disinfecting, etc.
  • Clean carpets, to include vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting.
  • Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting deodorizing, etc.
  • Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc., from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfection solutions.
  • Ensure that work/assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc. are properly stored and always stocked.
  • Ensure that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly set up before performing such duties.
  • Keep the supervisor informed of supply needs and any potential hazards.
  • Assist with special events set-up and breakdowns, and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Competencies:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent certificate of completion.
  • A valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in the course of performing job duties.
  • 2+ years' experience in facilities operations or custodial services required.
  • Knowledge of modern cleaning methods for floors, carpet, furniture, fixtures, and restrooms.
  • Knowledge of appropriate safety precautions and procedures.
  • Knowledge of appropriate personal protective equipment and supplies when cleaning and handling bio-hard materials and/or chemicals.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships and a positive and respectful attitude with peers, subordinates, supervisors, administrators, customers, and visitors.
  • Ability to attend and participate in continuing educational programs.
  • Ability to work some weekends and holidays when needed.

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to work safely on ladders, lifts, and elevated work areas.
  • Ability to perform the physical duties of the position, which may include moving, pushing, pulling, and transporting materials weighing up to 50 pounds, as well as kneeling, bending, stooping, and squatting for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and processes desired.
