Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Faculty member in Computing Sciences who will be a part of the Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth Plus Community College (PRODiG+CC) program. We seek a student-centered educator with academic preparation and/or professional experience that allows them to teach across multiple subfields within computing sciences, including artificial intelligence.
The PRODiG+CC program is an initiative supported by SUNY system aiming to:
(1) Increase the number and share of excellent diverse community college faculty committed to advancing the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion; (2) strengthen the pipeline for retention and support of these candidates; and (3) hire qualified faculty directly into tenure-track positions to support the community colleges’ efforts to build an educated workforce in the state.
The PRODiG+CC Program is open to any and all prospective candidates regardless of race, color, national origin, or sex, and is consistent with all current governing federal and state nondiscrimination law. All application submissions will be assessed and evaluated in accordance with the required eligibility criteria.
The ideal candidate has experience working with artificial intelligence and has the ability to teach in additional areas such as programming (e.g., Java, Python), cloud computing, cybersecurity, networking, software or game development, or related computing disciplines. The successful candidate will contribute to a dynamic and evolving curriculum designed to prepare students for transfer and employment in high-demand technology fields.
As an FLCC faculty member, you will collaborate with a supportive team of colleagues to expand interdisciplinary computing offerings, deliver innovative curriculum across modalities, and help students build the technical, analytical, and ethical foundations necessary for success in a rapidly advancing digital landscape. The department values strong educators who can bridge theory and applied practice, preparing students for both transfer pathways and immediate workforce entry.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship;
Have a Master’s degree or relevant terminal degree from an accredited institution completed prior to start date; and
Demonstrate personal, academic, and/or work experience engaging with diversity, equity, and inclusion and/or a commitment to facilitating and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in the campus community. Such experience may include, but is not limited to, an academic/scholarly track record focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion; work, volunteer/ unpaid/community service; or related experience/expertise in serving underserved or vulnerable areas and/or populations.
Experience leveraging artificial intelligence.
Ability to teach in multiple subfields within computing sciences (e.g., programming, cloud computing, cybersecurity, networking, software development, data science, or related areas).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to equity-minded, student-centered teaching.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior college-level teaching experience in computing sciences.
Industry experience in one or more computing subfields.
Experience teaching in multiple instructional modalities.
Willingness to teach at any of FLCC’s campus locations (Canandaigua, Geneva, Newark, and Victor).
Preference will be given to candidates who are:
Current SUNY students, alumni, and/or Fellows.
From a low-income background (e.g., Pell-eligible as undergraduates), were first-generation college students (students whose parents have not earned a bachelor’s degree), have overcome adversity, are AmeriCorps alumni, or are veterans.
