The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks a lecturer to provide classroom instruction for undergraduate and graduate students in the Fall 2026 semester.
The course of instruction is CIV ENGR 427, Solid and Hazardous Wastes Engineering. This course introduces students to basic concepts in designing, evaluating, and operating solid wastes storage, collection, and disposal systems; waste reduction, resource recovery, incineration and land disposal methods; hazardous wastes engineering; legal, political, and administrative considerations. In addition to instruction, the candidate is expected to supervise a teaching assistant and provide the department with documentation of student work as needed for accreditation.
The teaching schedule for Fall 2026 is already established and applicants are expected to be present for the scheduled sections on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 to 5:15 PM. Fall semester instruction begins on September 2, 2026, and the last day of classes is December 9, 2026. The final exam period is December 11 through December 17, with grades due on December 20, 2026. The period of employment will start on August 17 and end on December 30, 2026.
This position is part-time, 33%.
