Overview
Looking for a current Accounting or Finance related student to work about 12 hours per week to assist with inventory responsibilities,
journal entries, and reconciliations. The position will be in-person initially, and then will be flexible/hybrid after a period of time.

Processes repetitive and non-repetitive, clerical accounting transactions which require specific knowledge of a wide variety of prescribed accounting codes and classifications.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
  • Post journal entries, maintains and updates accounting records, and reconciles accounts.
  • Reconciles errors on source documents to maintain accounting records.
  • Assists with month-end and year-end closing procedures and finalization of accounts.
  • Analyzes financial data to identify discrepancies and trends and makes recommendations for improvements.
  • Performs annual inventory reviews and reconciliations.
  • Prepares documentation and support for internal and external auditors.
  • Performs special tasks assigned by management following prescribed accounting routines.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.
  • Ability to use standard office machines, calculators, and computer applications.
  • Knowledge of basic math and accounting.
  • Effective communication and human relations skills.
  • High level of proficiency in effective problem solving.

Qualifications
Required
  • Currently enrolled in an applicable, accredited accounting program.

Qualifications (Preferred)
Preferred
  • One year of experience performing accounting functions and preparing related reports.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation.
  • This is a sedentary position that may exert up to 10 pounds and may lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. This position involves sitting most of the time and is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
