ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY

SUMMARY: The Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises is currently seeking graduate student laboratory assistants to support in Animal Health Sciences teaching laboratories, including handling and restraint labs, parasitology labs, and clinical pathology labs. The selected candidates will work under the supervision of Dr. Vivian Nagao in the Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences.

SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):

  • This position will assist with one or more of the following activities:
  • Slide preparation, microscopy, lab sanitation, blood/fluid sample processing, syringe/needle handling, running and balancing a centrifuge, animal handling (small and large animals), and instructional support.
  • Parasitology and Clinical Pathology labs do not require animal handling.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Must demonstrate creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to meet project deadlines.
  • Previous laboratory and/or animal handling experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Graduate student in Animal Science and Biology.
