Job description

At Slice on Broadway, our Crew Associates provide excellent customer service, teamwork, and the highest standards for food preparation. Crew Associates are required to play the role of salad/hoagie maker, oven manager, pizza maker, and other shop roles, as business needs require. A Crew Associate is cross trained in all areas and may specialize in a certain area, on a certain day or shift, but is expected to pitch in and help wherever is necessary.
General Crew Associate Duties and Functions:
  • Assist the kitchen in the preparation and service of menu items as needed according to the recipe, procedure, quality, and timeliness standards.
  • Stock and refill pizza line and sandwich coolers and maintain the cleanliness of each unit.
  • Follow food handling techniques and procedures that are compliant with local health department guidelines.
  • Maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene in compliance with Company policy and health department guidelines.
  • Comply with Companys dress code.
  • Follow safety policies and regulations, reporting injuries or any unsafe conditions and work practices to the Shop Manager.
  • Clean and sanitize production equipment, work surfaces, and kitchen according to cleaning schedules and procedures.
  • Remove all food from the serving lines and store food properly, if working at closing.
  • Empty trash containers when needed.
  • Perform other functions as necessary for the operation of the shop and/or as assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Ability to work as part of a team by helping others as needed or requested.
  • Willingness to cross-train in all areas of the kitchen and line.
  • Must be able to understand and comply with oral and written instructions and communicate and exchange accurate information so that others will understand.
  • May be required to work additional hours depending upon the workload and staffing.
  • Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Demands:
  • Remain in a stationary position for substantial periods of time, move and traverse within the shop as necessary, position yourself to perform functions required by the position, observe details at close range, and transport/move products and goods weighing up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions:
  • Working conditions involve noise, heat, changes in temperature, odors, moisture, and other conditions common in a restaurant.
Performance of Essential Functions:
  • The Crew Associate must be able to perform the essential functions of the Crew Associate position satisfactorily and reasonable accommodations will be made to enable employees with disabilities to perform the essential functions of their job, absent undue hardship.
