Job Summary/Basic Function
The Office of Admissions employs a team of student workers, known as the Crew, to support the day-to-day operations of the office. Crew members play an important role in the recruitment of prospective students by helping showcase what the Millersville University experience is like. Primary responsibilities include leading campus tours, answering phones, staffing the front desk, assisting with approximately five Saturday recruitment events throughout the year, and engaging with prospective students through social media platforms such as CampusReel and ZeeMee.
Required Qualifications
Crew members must demonstrate the ability to maintain strict confidentiality, provide excellent customer service, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Applicants should display an enthusiastic and positive attitude toward Millersville University, possess strong communication skills, and maintain professionalism in all interactions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is also required. Crew members must maintain at least a 2.25 GPA (both cumulative and per semester).
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in customer service, recruitment, or a related field; bilingual or multilingual abilities; completion of at least one year at Millersville University; and familiarity with the university's campus, academic programs, and student activities.
Job Duties
• Lead engaging campus tours for prospective students, families, and visitors
• Staff the Admissions front desk and provide excellent customer service to guests
• Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and general inquiries
• Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Office of Admissions
• Support recruitment efforts by sharing information about Millersville University programs, campus life, and student experiences
• Participate in approximately five Saturday recruitment events throughout the year (e.g., open houses and visit days)
• Engage with prospective students through social media platforms such as CampusReel and ZeeMee
• Maintain professionalism while representing Millersville University to prospective students and families
Perform additional office or event support tasks as assigned
