Job description

SUMMARY:

The VP & Commercial Real Estate Appraisal Review Officer facilitates the request and review of commercial real estate valuations to determine market value for related financial transactions in accordance with internal bank policies/procedures, industry standards and regulatory requirements. (USPAP & FIRREA).

This position may be a voting member of the Executive Loan Committee that has lending authority up to the bank's legal lending limit.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Learns and performs the administrative tasks that drive the commercial real estate appraisal process.

Uses risk-based decisions, work with stakeholders to ensure that appraisal reports are complete, accurate, credible, relevant and reasonable based on sound real estate appraisal methodology.

Mediates and resolves issues between internal stakeholders and valuation vendors to maintain independence and impartiality.

Self-motivates and manages time efficiently to meet service level deadlines.

Understands various building construction types, flood/zoning/environmental hazards.

Other duties as assigned.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Banking is a highly regulated industry and you will be expected to acquire and maintain a proficiency in the Bank's policies and procedures, and adhere to all laws, rules and regulations that are applicable to your conduct and the work you will be performing. You will also be expected to complete all assigned compliance training in a timely manner.

Familiarity with appraisal management platforms preferred

Experience reviewing appraisal for financial institutions preferred

Ability to provide leadership and be the primary person making decisions about credit requests up to $10 million lending authority and/or make recommendations to appropriate credit officer with necessary the approval authority.

Ability to analyze the most complex financial and legal documents.

Ability to understand complex financial transactions and provide guidance or alternatives as appropriate.

Ability to effectively communicate acceptable credit structures to lenders and customers.

Excellent written communication skills.

Travel and occasional overnight stay may be required.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.

Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word and Outlook.

Ability to learn other banking software's.

Bachelors Degree and/or equivalent work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Minimum of three years' experience appraising commercial properties in Floridia required.

Knowledge of local market and continued development of national real estate and industry specific trends is required.

State Certified General Appraiser License (required)
