Job Description

U.S. Bank is hiring a responsible, hard-working Risk Management professional skilled in SAS/SQL, data analysis, and reporting tools to manage small business credit card credit risks through underwriting strategies for the Small Business credit card Risk Strategy team.

Position Highlights

  • Responsible for underwriting strategies for the Small Business Credit Card portfolio. Analyze large amount of historical data to identify risk mitigation and growth opportunities through data-driven underwriting strategy improvements. Develop tools, segmentations, and strategies to optimize financial impact of these programs. Forecast the strategy's financial impact and track actual against forecast
  • Clearly and timely communicate strategy changes and financial impact to partners and senior leaders
  • Query large datasets using tools such as Python, SAS EG or SQL Plus, performing segmentation and decision tree analysis. Identify patterns through large credit card financial data
  • Work with consumer and commercial bureaus to improve data sources and tool for strategy improvement
  • Work closely with other areas of the organization such as system
  • Review accounts in the decisioning systems to validate accuracy of strategy execution and stability of key drivers
  • Monitor portfolio performance trends and loss patterns and identify strategy improvement opportunities in a timely manner
  • Work as a liaison between Compliance, Risk, Data Warehouse teams to keep data organized. Become a data expert for the Small Business team and build reports, data inventory, and analysis that help make data-driven decisions
  • Utilize reporting tools such as Power BI to create and automate timely and accurate tracking and reports for senior management. Summarize findings from the reports to deliver clear messages about strategy improvement opportunities

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Five to seven years of related experience

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, with emphasis in computer science, business, analytics, statistics, data science or equivalent work experience
  • Candidates with two plus years of relevant experience in credit card risk management functions are encouraged to apply
  • In-depth understanding of the Risk Management function in credit card risk management with a focus on line management
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze models, tools, trends, and patterns
  • Expertise with any of these tool - Python, SAS, SAS EG or SQL plus to pull large amounts of data
  • Expertise with Microsoft suites and productivity tools, especially with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Expertise with Power BI is a plus
  • Strong process facilitation, project management, analytical, and presentation skills
  • Experience working with small business credit card portfolio preferred

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $105,400.00 - $124,000.00
