Description

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm and rotate every third Saturday.

Summary

The overall function of this job is to plan and organize equipment into the shop for service.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Greet drivers and document unit issues on write-up sheets
  • Create Work Orders (WO) from write-up sheets
  • Notify operations when units (drivers) check in and apply expirations for tracking
  • Update unit status and tracking systems
  • Communicate with drivers, technicians, operations, and outside vendors regarding repairs and dealership-related issues
  • Provide status updates for units both in and outside of the shop
  • Maintain accurate workload tracking on spreadsheets
  • Perform basic filing of work orders and invoices
  • Prioritize repairs based on urgency
  • Answer phone calls and emails
  • Help to build permit books for units

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Twelve months parts or service writing experience, Class 8 truck experience preferred
  • General computer and word processing experience is highly regarded
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are required
  • Ability to work independently without continuous direction or supervision
  • Driver's license

Education and Experience:
Industry related experience in fleet, heavy truck, automotive and/or farming equipment background is preferred.
Working Conditions:
This job entails light physical work – Lifting and carrying 35 pounds of weight occasionally to move objects. Frequent climbing, reaching, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking and hearing are required. Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions will occur, and employee will be in close proximity to moving mechanical parts and oils/solvents. The noise level of this job is rated as moderate.
