Creative Producer, Bon Appétit & Epicurious
Bon Appétit and Epicurious seek a highly skilled Creative Producer with a strong instinct for food storytelling and a proven ability to produce and direct engaging, high-quality video across formats from recipe-driven content to in-the-field docu-style series.
This role is the on-set creative lead and operational driver, responsible for bringing concepts to life from pre-production through post. The Creative Producer partners closely with Video Directors, Associate Producers, Production Management, and Post-Production to execute compelling, talent-driven content that resonates with audiences.
The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of YouTube-native storytelling and how creative decisions from casting to pacing impact performance and audience engagement.
This role reports to the Senior Director of Content Production and is based in New York City.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Handles all production logistics for shoots, working collaboratively with Creative Producers, Directors, and Associate Producers as needed
  • Executes with confidence in both field and studio environments. Able to direct multi-camera shoots and talent.
  • Creates, reviews, edits, and approves preliminary and final creative treatments, casting, and production schedules for all assignments
  • Directs and supports chef and celebrity talent to ensure authenticity and clarity. Creates a calm, organized, and positive on-set environment that enables strong performances
  • Reviews cuts and provides clear, actionable feedback from rough cuts through final delivery
  • Owns production logistics in partnership with Production Management, including schedules, budgets, freelance support, and legal matters
  • Identifies and implements workflows to improve production efficiency
  • Tracks content performance and applies insights to refine creative decisions and strengthen future episodes
  • Conducts rigorous research on food topics, culinary talent, and experts to ensure accuracy and credibility
  • Monitors competitive content and emerging trends to inform new ideas
  • Partners cross-functionally, including on sponsored content, ensuring integrations are seamless and editorially sound
  • Builds strong relationships with talent, crew, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Acts as a leader and mentor on set and within the team, modeling professionalism, clear communication, and a solution-oriented mindset
  • Contributes to brainstorms and the development of new formats and series

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of experience producing and directing digital video, ideally in food, lifestyle, or editorial content.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience overseeing the full production lifecycle (development through post)
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creative execution

The expected base salary range for this position is from $87,000 - $110,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates may also be eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation.
