Job description

UNM Campus Recreation is seeking a creative, driven, and detail-oriented Marketing Assistant to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing our social media channels, designing engaging digital and print content, and working collaboratively across all departmental areas (Aquatics, Fitness, Intramural Sports, Outdoor Adventures, and Facility Operations) to promote our programs to the UNM community.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Social Media Management: Oversee and execute strategy for all official UNM Campus Recreation social media channels (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.).
Content Creation & Graphic Design: Produce high-quality promotional materials, including flyers, digital banners, graphics, photography, and short-form video content (Reels/TikToks).
Community Outreach & Tabling: Represent Campus Recreation at campus tabling events, new student orientations, and department promos to drive engagement.
Content Calendar & Scheduling: Maintain and organize a consistent marketing schedule to ensure timely promotion of all events, programs, and facility updates.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with a team of student marketers, supervisors, and program coordinators to brainstorm and execute cohesive marketing strategies.
Patron Communication: Keep the UNM community informed regarding important departmental updates, special events, program registration deadlines, and facility/pool closures.
