Job description

The Engineering Intern will work on different initiatives within Product Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality. Project Initiatives involve supporting new product development projects, fixture design, manufacturing process improvement initiatives, or quality continuous improvement initiatives. The Engineering Intern will be expected to be creative, have strong communication skills, and apply what they have learned so far in school as they gain experience by utilizing standard engineering techniques and procedures to support different companywide initiatives.
  • Assists department leaders, supervisors, and engineers within Product Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality on current initiatives.
  • Assist with projects by designing fixtures and evaluating current processes and recommending or working on process improvements, as well as continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize SOLIDWORKS software as part of internship.
  • Utilize and create documents in the Conax Technologies Wiki.
  • Exemplify core values of integrity, commitment, innovative thinking, customer centric, and teamwork.

Physical Demands
This job operates in an office and manufacturing setting and requires occasional walking and lifting IT equipment along with the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, and filing.
Education and Experience
  • At least one year completed towards a degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution required.
  • Proven track record of personal accountability and success throughout their academic career.
  • Working knowledge to use 3D CAD package, such as SOLIDWORKS.
  • Ability to demonstrate and apply technical skills in an industrial environment.
  • Prior internship-coop experience preferred.

Salary ranges for this position vary by job location and are determined based on experience, reflecting our commitment to recognizing individual expertise and contributions.
Successful Candidate must be able to meet U.S. export control requirements (ITAR/EAR) to gain access to technical data. This position requires access to technology that is subject to U.S. export control regulations. Candidates must be eligible for employment in the US and meet the requirements of ITAR.
