Job description

Administrative Assistant I, High School Counselor

Qualifications:

  • Proof of high school graduation/GED equivalent.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applied technology (Microsoft Office).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in general office management and procedures.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must have a high level of integrity and confidentiality regarding student records, employment records, and campus issues.
  • Must be self-motivated, possess the ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks and work collaboratively.

Terms of Employment:

205 Days

Salary/Pay Grade:

$27,193/CP-4 as approved by the Board of Trustees.

Essential Functions:

  • Process correspondence for counselors.
  • Provide clerical support to assist with the efficient operation of the counselors.
  • Assist with enrollment of new students/schedules.
  • Coordinate and maintain scholarships available for which students may apply.
  • Schedule appointments and assemble materials for meetings.
  • Type and disperse counseling office communications.
  • Assist in preparing for special projects.
  • Maintain files and supplies for counselors.
  • Assist in creating transcript check forms.
  • Organize materials for counselors prior to student registration.
  • Disseminate timely and correct information to students and parents.
  • Schedule appointments for parent teacher conferences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Counselor or Administrative Staff.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

Maintain emotional control under stress; tolerate moderate noise levels; work with frequent interruptions. Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer, prolonged sitting.
