Job description

We are searching for a VP/Senior Director of Sales for the Club Division for our client in wholesale apparel.
This position will be directly responsible for defining and leading the sales objective and strategies within the margin goals for club accounts, such as Costco and for developing relationships with accounts and prospects to ensure we successfully expand distribution and merchandising presence within the retail channel. The ideal candidate will already have existing relationships with major retailers in the club and discount channel.
Sales
  • Oversee the Sales Account Managers who handle clubs
  • Develop annual and quarterly sales plans, strategies, and implementation steps
  • Achieving sales target budget, profit, and managing of trade funding
  • Accountable for sales of existing and new items, category reviews, sales goals, budget adherence, and execution of sales & marketing initiatives
  • Development of existing and obtaining new business accounts
  • Manage to drive key account and regional market development
  • Identify brand/category development opportunities, communicate, and resolve account issues/solutions through sales/marketing & broker teams
  • Develop, implement, and monitor retail pricing, competition, distribution, shelving, and promotional strategies
  • Effectively manage trade spending, deductions, and credit management by working closely with accounting and inside sales
  • Sales forecasting responsibilities for yearly budget and long-range plans, and monitoring of forecast against actual results
  • Work closely with Operations/Logistics to adjust monthly production forecast for promotions, new item distribution, and other market dynamics that will impact demand planning and to ensure proper on time shipping
  • Work with various internal team, production, operation, ecomm and accounting


Position Requirement:
  • Strong leadership, excellent presentation and influencing skills to ensure all product lines are sold
  • Must have Costco management, buyers’ knowledge and have sold to
  • In-depth experience in managing Costco and other club and mass accounts is a plus.
  • Strong negotiation, writing and communication skills
  • Ability to establish sales plans, implement, drive execution, and gain results
  • Analytical, organized, and detail oriented with excellent creative problem-solving skills, math skills
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets/Google suite/MS suite
  • Efficient with time and resources management – ability to juggle multiple projects
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to the rapidly changing needs
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and communication with all stakeholders, internal and external
  • Creative, and passionate about apparel and consumer behavior
  • Willing to travel up to 50%
  • Preferred to be In the Los Angeles office
Ideal background/ experience:
  • 10+ years of work experience in sales account management in the apparel industry for club accounts
  • At least 10 years at manager level and overseeing a team
  • Education: 4-year college degree, preferably in business/economics
  • Salary Range $150-180K DOE
