Job description

About the role:

As a Principal Supplier Performance Engineer, you will support the fabrication of structural and mechanical components at supplier facilities. We have three opportunities to support the suppliers for our AP1000 manufacturing project. This is a hybrid role with consideration to be remote within the US with 20% travel required. You will support frequent onsite visits to our Etna and Cranberry Township, PA HQ sites. You will report to the APx Supply Chain, Major Mechanical SPx Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accomplish Supplier Oversight Plans to lead completion of critical document submittals, manufacturing activities, surveillance (witness and hold) points, inspections, and functional tests. Ensure vendor compliance with critical requirements.
  • Coordinate activities of Westinghouse functions responsible for driving supplier performance including Supply Chain, Design Engineering, and Supplier Quality Oversight
  • Identify and escalate supplier issues, risks, and quality events.
  • Promote prompt resolution of issues by coordinating activities, issuing communications, and identifying partners to ensure prompt identification of impacted products, disposition of issues, and implementation of corrective action
  • Monitor main supplier performance metrics (On-Time Delivery, Quality issues, Deviation Notices) to identify negative performance trends and implement causal analysis, corrective actions, and Supplier Improvement Plans to reduce issues.
  • Manage internal and external (supplier) corrective action requests, performing cause analyses and verifying completion of preventative and corrective actions.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing or fabrication
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering mechanical, Welding, or Manufacturing disciplines
  • Experience preferred in the Power Generation or Nuclear Industries but could be in any of the following industries: Oil & Gas, Pipelines, Refineries, Offshore Oil Production Platforms, Ship Building, Manufacturing Plants
  • Experience with fabrication and design of ASME Section VIII pressure vessels and heat exchangers
  • Experience in manufacturing processes including machining (turning, milling), welding, forming, mechanical assembly, NDE and inspection, and testing
  • Working knowledge of Manufacturing and Quality Plans
  • Read drawings and specifications made to ASME standard
