Job description

The City of Owensboro is hiring experienced Police Officers. Excellent Pay and Benefits! Up to a $25,000 sign on bonus Competitive Salary based on years of service (currently ranging between $60,440 to $79,458) Eligible for annual step and COLA increases Eligible for $4,429 a year state training incentive pay Structured Retention Bonuses 3 years - $2000 6 years - $3000 9 years - $5000 12 years - $6000 Yearly clothing allowance of $750 Take Home Fleet Tuition Reimbursement Provides law enforcement for the Police Department and ultimately the citizens of Owensboro to ensure productive, safe, efficient, and customer oriented administration of City services using generally accepted law enforcement practices under the direction of designated management with applicable policies, procedures, laws and regulations.

Patrols assigned beat on foot or in/on appropriate police vehicle in order to: control traffic, prevent crime, prevent disturbance of peace, arrest violators. May be assigned to other units as well.
