Description
The Cleveland Heights PD will be accepting applications for lateral transfer. Applications must be completed on the City of Cleveland Heights website at (click "employment opportunities").
The lateral transfer process will include an oral interview, thorough background investigation, voice stress analysis, psychological evaluation, medical evaluation to include drug screen and any other method necessary to ascertain the qualifications and abilities of the applicant. There will not be a written or physical agility test.
If you cannot meet all the minimum qualifications below, do not submit an application.
Typical Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and no more than 40 years of age at the time of applying
  • Must be a US or naturalized citizen
  • Possess valid and current OPOTA certification
  • Valid Ohio driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • At least one year as full-time civil service police officer with no more than one year of separation of employment
  • Must pass the Ohio Police and Fire Pension medical examination

Supplemental Information
Comprehensive Benefits:
  • Signing Bonus of $5,000; $2,500.00 to be paid at time of hire, $2,500.00 to be paid upon 1 year of employment.
  • Salary based on experience ranging between $82,013.77-$93,051.48. Candidates with two years of experience will start at the top rate.
