Job description

Mid-Corp Relationship Manager, Consumer Products & Retail - Senior Vice President
As a Mid-Corp Relationship Manager at Citi, you will serve as a senior client coverage professional within the Commercial Bank, owning and growing a portfolio of mid-corporate clients in the Consumer Products and Retail sector. This role sits at the intersection of client strategy, credit execution, and cross-product delivery - and is accountable for driving measurable revenue growth while deepening Citi's relationship with some of its most strategically important commercial clients. If you are a senior banking professional who brings deep sector expertise, expert credit capabilities, and a track record of winning and growing complex commercial relationships, this is an opportunity to operate at the highest level of client coverage at a global institution.
Responsibilities
  • Own and deepen a portfolio of mid-corporate client relationships in the Consumer Products and Retail vertical, serving as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor across the full suite of Citi's commercial banking solutions.
  • Lead complex credit transactions from origination through execution, structuring deals that appropriately balance risk and reward while coordinating cross-functional deal teams to deliver an exceptional client experience.
  • Develop and convert prospect relationships into multi-product clients over time, identifying new business opportunities through active networking and a clear understanding of Citi's value proposition.
  • Partner with product specialists and subject matter experts to design and deliver innovative, customized financial solutions that address each client's distinct needs and growth objectives.
  • Deliver thought leadership to clients by monitoring and interpreting Consumer Retail industry trends, competitive dynamics, and market developments.
  • Oversee the credit relationship for each client, managing the end-to-end credit process including KYC and onboarding compliance, Early Warning Detection, and ongoing credit monitoring in line with Citi's policies and institutional standards.
  • Mentor and develop Analysts, Associates, and Junior Bankers, contributing to a high-performance team culture focused on client impact and commercial outcomes.
  • Identify and execute on cross-sell opportunities to broaden wallet share, leveraging Citi's global product capabilities and geographic reach across capital markets, treasury, and beyond.

Required Qualifications & Skills
  • 10 or more years of experience in commercial banking, relationship management, or a closely related client-facing financial services role.
  • FINRA licensing including Series 79, Series 63, and SIE.
  • Expert-level credit skills, including the ability to independently structure all credit deal types, guide teams through the credit approval process, and apply advanced Early Warning Detection capabilities.
  • Deep knowledge of commercial banking products, debt capital markets, and client capitalization structures, with the ability to position Citi competitively for lead roles across complex transactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-functional teams and coordinate across internal partners to deliver seamless, high-quality client outcomes under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, with the confidence to engage and influence senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to rapidly assess priorities based on real-time data and shifting market conditions, maintaining clear focus and decisive judgment under pressure.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
  • Master's degree or equivalent advanced qualification in finance, business, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Citi's credit appetite and credit process framework, or an equivalent understanding developed at a comparable global financial institution.
  • Experience covering or advising clients in the Consumer Products and Retail sector, with an established network and awareness of the sector's evolving competitive landscape.
  • Comfort leveraging digital tools and data insights to enhance client engagement and improve the quality and speed of decision-making.

What We Offer
At Citi, senior professionals are given the platform, global reach, and resources to do their most impactful work. This role places you at the heart of one of the world's leading commercial banking franchises, with direct ownership of client outcomes, access to Citi's full product and geographic capabilities, and the support of a high-caliber team committed to performance and growth.
  • A senior leadership platform with direct accountability for commercially meaningful results, including revenue growth, return performance, and long-term client portfolio development.
  • Access to Citi's global network, full product suite, and cross-border capabilities to deliver differentiated solutions to clients across markets.
  • Opportunities to mentor and shape the next generation of commercial banking talent, contributing to team capability and professional growth across the organization.
  • Structured learning, leadership development, and career progression pathways within a global institution operating across more than 160 countries.
