Location: Westminster, CA (Hybrid Tue & Thu- possibility of more days being required onsite)

Pay rate: $60/hr-$65/hr on W2 (All inclusive)

Type of Hire: Contract

Duration : 18+ Months

Schedule: Mโ€“F, 8:00 AM โ€“ 5:00 PM

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced AMI 2.0 Metering Engineer to support the validation, testing, integration, and deployment of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) 2.0 solutions. The role will work closely with internal stakeholders, field operations teams, and vendors to ensure successful implementation, interoperability, and quality of metering systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Validate and test AMI 2.0 metering hardware and software solutions.
  • Support system integration, functionality testing, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Collaborate with vendors on solution development, enhancements, and issue resolution.
  • Support AMI 2.0 field pilots, deployment readiness, and operational support.
  • Create procedures, job aids, and technical documentation for field teams.
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, IT, and vendor teams throughout deployment activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related engineering field.
  • 5+ years of experience with AMI systems, smart metering, smart grid technologies, or utility metering solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of AMI architecture, interoperability standards, and testing methodologies.
  • Experience with system integration, troubleshooting, and technical validation.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Utility industry experience.
  • Experience supporting field deployments and technician operations.
  • Knowledge of wireless communication protocols and IT system integration.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
