Accurate metering is the backbone of commercial integrity in renewable energy. As our Revenue and Compliance Metering Engineering Lead within the Engineering & Construction (E&C) division, you will architect and deliver metering solutions that honor customer requirements, satisfy interconnection standards, and meet the letter of our commercial agreements—across development, design, construction, and commissioning.

Your mission

Translate business and interconnection requirements into robust engineering design, orchestrate cross-functional delivery, and guide external Metering EORs to implement best-in-class solutions at utility scale.

Success in this role looks like
  • First 30–60 days: absorb program standards; assess active metering scopes; align stakeholders on requirements and gaps.
  • By 90 days: establish reporting for contractual/design progress; standardize documentation and presentations; implement quick-win improvements.
  • 6–12 months: deliver consistent, revenue-grade metering outcomes across multiple projects; reduce rework through templates and standards; mentor partners and third-party firms.
Core responsibilities
  • Provide engineering, design, and development support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Track and communicate progress against contractual obligations and design milestones.
  • Embed company standards and policies; drive adoption across internal and external teams.
  • Prepare clear communications and presentations; lead and support meetings.
  • Research and implement improvements to processes, tools, and templates.
  • Partner closely with engineering, development, business management, transmission services, and external stakeholders to define and verify requirements.
  • Work extended hours when needed to meet critical deadlines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 3+ years of relevant P&C/Substation/Metering engineering plus project management experience.
  • 3–5 years of metering experience, including: interpreting P&C drawings; instrument transformer expertise (CT/PT/CVT types, accuracy classes, burden); experience with multiple metering platforms—especially Schneider Electric ION-8650; configuring meter-to-meter (peer-to-peer) schemes; implementing Fe/Cu transformer loss compensation and generator tie-line loss compensation; allocating losses among technologies or PPA offtakers; and programming meters or building reusable templates.
Preferred background
  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering; Master’s in Engineering Management.
  • PMP certification.
  • 5+ years in P&C/Substation/Metering engineering with 2+ years directly managing projects.
Broader expertise we value
  • Experience at an ISO/RTO such as SPP, MISO, or CAISO.
  • Reviewing LGIAs, PPAs, and retail service provider agreements.
  • Substation design; metering standards; auxiliary load metering; bench testing.
  • Communication protocols: Modbus, DNP3, MV90.
  • Metering ecosystems: Schneider ION Setup & PME with ION-8650; SEL AcSELerator with SEL-735.
  • Orion LX interface proficiency.
  • Familiarity with IEEE-519 (2014) harmonic standard.

Alternate qualification pathway

Candidates with strong AI systems experience (e.g., tools, platforms, and AI agent development) and solid IT knowledge, coupled with an engineering degree, may be considered in lieu of direct metering experience.
