Job description

We are currently seeking a "Metering Engineer" for a Contract role with one of our clients based in Phoenix, AZ. Please apply if you would be interested and available for it.
Duration - 06+ Months Contract
Location - Hybrid / Phoenix, AZ
Pay Range - $50 - $70/hr on W2 (Depending upon Experience)
Core Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and implement revenue metering solutions for interconnection, PPA, and large customer projects, including renewables.
  • Develop philosophy documents, high-level schematics, and SCADA-related drawings, and perform detailed drawing reviews (30/60/90/IFC).
  • Configure meters, develop installation and loss compensation settings, and work directly with the meter shop on test plans and calibration.
  • Support project execution and site commissioning, including troubleshooting billing inaccuracies and performing field/site visits.
  • Serve as a technical SME for complex metering scenarios, interfacing with customers, project teams, and controlling engineers.
  • Hands-on experience with metering systems and revenue metering, including configuration, testing, and commissioning.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements related to utility metering.
  • Ability to solve complex metering challenges and provide independent technical guidance.
Preferred / Valuable Background:
  • Utility industry experience, especially substation, interconnection, or large customer metering.
  • Experience with SCADA systems and high-level metering schematics.
  • Familiarity with Schneider PowerLogic / ION metering platforms.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
  • Experience supporting renewable energy or DER interconnections.
