Job description

Native Land is looking for a Marketing & Promotions Coordinator to help build and execute our local promotional calendar, community outreach, in-store campaigns, event activations, and partnership opportunities.

This is a full-time, hands-on role for someone who is organized, outgoing, reliable, and comfortable representing our business in the community. The right candidate will help create new local opportunities by reaching out to businesses, events, firehouses, golf clubs, community groups, and other potential partners.

This role includes a mix of in-store promotional planning, local field marketing, flyer distribution, direct mail support, event coordination, lead generation, and customer engagement. Weekend availability is required, and occasional evening availability may be needed for events.

This position has growth potential into a Promotions & Partnerships Manager role as the department expands.

Responsibilities

  • Help plan and execute local marketing campaigns, in-store promotions, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Research and contact local events, festivals, golf outings, firehouses, businesses, and community groups for promotional opportunities.
  • Assist with lead generation for Native Land, Honor the Cigar, and related promotional events.
  • Coordinate flyer distribution to local businesses and community locations.
  • Support direct mail campaigns, including organizing mailers and preparing materials.
  • Help coordinate event logistics, including supplies, signage, promo materials, setup, breakdown, and staffing needs.
  • Attend and support local events, brand activations, and in-store promotions.
  • Work with management and the design team to help prepare flyers, signage, mailers, and other promotional materials.
  • Track outreach efforts, event leads, booked opportunities, and follow-up tasks.
  • Provide weekly updates on outreach activity, upcoming events, promotional needs, and completed tasks.
  • Support customer engagement and basic social media/comment responses as needed.
  • Maintain a professional, positive, and brand-appropriate presence when representing the company.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • Weekend availability required.
  • Occasional evening availability required for events and promotions.
  • Comfortable with local travel for outreach, flyer distribution, partnership visits, and events.
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills.
  • Organized, reliable, and able to work independently.
  • Comfortable speaking with local businesses, customers, event organizers, and community contacts.
  • Able to stand for events and assist with basic event setup, tables, signage, and promotional materials.
  • Comfortable working in a tobacco/cannabis-adjacent retail environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in promotions, events, retail, hospitality, sales, field marketing, or community outreach.
  • Experience with local business outreach or lead generation.
  • Experience coordinating events, vendor tables, or brand activations.
  • Basic familiarity with social media, customer engagement, or content support.
  • Comfortable using task management systems, spreadsheets, email, or basic reporting tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on assigned projects.

Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours per week.
Weekend availability is required.
Occasional evenings may be required based on events, promotions, and community outreach needs.

Pay

$22–$25 per hour, based on experience.
